Happy Holidays!
Happy Holidays everyone! Have a prosperous and successful 2008, and thanks for reading!
So what are your goals for 2008, rowing or otherwise? Here are a few on mine…
Goals for Insider Rowing in 2008:
- Blog consistently, at least 3-4 good posts per week. I’d like to get to a point where I can post every single day, but I need to solidify my content sources.
- Increase the readership of this blog to consistently over a 100 unique visitors per day.
- Make this blog a daily stop on your round of rowing information.
- Create a new “look” for the site, either from scratch or using a template that I modify. The current look is starting to look dated IMO.
- Some content ideas: interviews with coaches and rowers, original video, race coverage, gear reviews.
Personal Goals for 2008:
- Increase my skills as a coach, particularly in the areas of technique and power application. I’ve learned a ton in the last 24 months, and the more I learn the more I realize that I don’t know. This is my tenth year as a coach, which seems crazy because I never thought I’d be professional coach. Crew is a funny sport like that.
- More coaching education, which can include but is not limited to conferences and riding in launches.
- Continue to be a good role model to young rowers.
- Start on other Internet-based entrepreneurial projects that will make me some MONEY in Q1 ‘08.
- Get back into writing, particularly short fiction and novel writing. I’d like to write at least one short story that I submit for publication somewhere by the end of the summer 2008.
- Get back on the effing water and continue to develop myself as a oarsman. I can’t tell you how much I miss the act of actually rowing in a boat on the water.
So there it is! What are your goals?
I’m putting a picture of the brand new Lamborghini Reventon here because well I really like Lambo’s. This little fella churns out 650 horses and will cost you a cool 1 million euros, that is if you happen to be an oil sheikh and can get one of the 20 that are produced. Hot hot hot!
