When I first saw this I nearly shat myself:

A Once A Runner movie! Totally effing AWESOME!!!!

I’m a huge fan of John L Parker’s book and I firmly believe that Once A Runner is arguably the best piece of sports fiction ever written. (Note: this book is out of print and could cost you upwards of $100 on eBay, but if you’re any kind of sports fan, borrow this from a runner friend and read it.)

I checked out the entire website and jumped for joy because I thought Once A Runner was getting made into a movie. But get this…the entire site is fake, and is actually a well-made student web design project. Wow. It comes across as totally legit, and there’s even a groovy trailer on youtube:

I was crestfallen but couldn’t help admire the author’s handiwork. The good news is the Runner sequel just came out, Again to Carthage, and I’m going to pick that up posthaste.
